Disabled people’s organisations

The national assembly representing disabled people’s organisations is:

  • The Council of the Chronically ill and the Disabled (Dutch acronym CG-raad). It is an umbrella organisation, consisting of 160 national or regional associations of people with a chronic illness or a disability. http://www.cg-raad.nl/home.php

Other important organisations of disabled people include:

  • Platform Intellectual Disability (in Dutch Platform VG): An umbrella organisation of 18 national associations of (parents of) people with an intellectual disability. http://www.platformvg.nl/
  • National Federation of Self-advocates LFB. http://www.lfb.nu/
  • Coalition for Inclusion: A coalition of organisations of people with disabilities, self-advocates, care providers, educational organisations and individuals who strive for more inclusion of people with disabilities. www.coalitievoorinclusie.nl
