Indicators of employment:
The overall number of employed people has increased by 28.1% since the year 2000. 7,535 more people were employed in 2010 than in 2000, giving an overall employment figure of 34,344 (Schönholzer & Eisenhut, 2011; Amt für Statistik: Beschäftigungsstatistik). The target for the employment rate set by Europe 2020 is 75% of the population aged 20 – 64 years. The employment rate for the age range 15 – 64 in Liechtenstein was 71.6% in 2009 (Amt für Statistik: Nachhaltige Entwicklung).
