Policy contacts

The main contact point for co-ordination of disability policy at the national level is:

  • The Disabled and Elderly Affairs Directorate General under the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, which was established in June 2011. Before that the Administration for Persons with Disabilities affiliated with the Prime Ministry coordinated disability policy at the national level.

Law and policy

More details of national policy instruments, and with relevance to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of persons with Disabilities, are provided in DOTCOM: the Disability Online Tool of the Commission.

Turkey has ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The Optional Protocol is signed, but not ratified yet.
