Data on employment indicate that:
Generally, very limited quantitative data exists in regard to the employment situations of disabled people in Iceland. Neither Statistics Iceland (Hagstofa Íslands) nor the Icelandic Directorate of Labour (Vinnumálastofnun) publishes extensive or detailed figures on the employment rates of disabled people.

Data and research

Enquiries about official data on disability issues can be directed to:

  • Tryggingastofnun (Social Insurance Administration). The information is available primarily in Icelandic, though some of the tables contain English translations. The statistics are primarily concerned with the disability pension system and are reported on a yearly basis, found under the link “Staðtölur.” Condensed quarterly reports are found under the heading “Tölutíðindi.”
